This is keeping you from succeeding
I sat staring at the phone, sweat started dripping from my forehead.
I was so nervous.
I received an email from a new prospective client who wanted to know more about my services.
It was my first real lead.
Someone that wasn’t referred to me.
I had so many thoughts about how it could go wrong…
What if I said the wrong thing?
What if he didn’t like my price?
Maybe I shouldn’t call at all?
On and on my thoughts went…
I was so nervous.

I had so many thoughts about how it could go wrong…
What if I said the wrong thing?
What if he didn’t like my price?
Maybe I shouldn’t call at all?
On and on my thoughts went…
I was procrastinating.
Then I remembered the last lesson I learned from the millionaire consultant.
“Take Imperfect Action”
If I didn’t call, nothing would happen.
I believe it was Wayne Gretzky who said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”.
So I took the shot.
I dialed the number, dripping in sweat (luckily the client couldn’t see me through the phone).
Annnnd I failed horribly.
I was terrible on the call, and the client could tell I was not an expert by any means.
But guess what?
It didn’t matter.
No one died, no one got hurt, and I was just fine.
After a few of these nervous sweaty calls, I got better.
Eventually, my first client said yes.
Then another. And another.
I got better by taking action.
If you don’t take action, nothing happens.
Don’t overthink. Just do.
Or as Leonardo Da Vinci said, “It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.”
Not sure if he actually did say it, but that it’s a smart statement either way.
Action makes things happen.
You can think about making a call or sending that proposal all you want.
Nothing happens until you actually do it.
Even if you are an absolute beginner with no skills, no portfolio, and have never had a client, you can eventually reach your goals by taking action.
You will learn from any failures and keep moving forward.
Until one day you look back and see all the progress you made.
I hope you have enjoyed these last few days together.
Remember, action takers get the results.
If my system isn’t the right fit for you, then that is perfectly okay!
But if it’s just fear or worry that you may not be able to do this that’s holding you back – then let that take the back seat for the next 90 days.
Trust the process, put your fears on hold, and step forward to become a six-figure freelancer.
Imagine what your life would look like not just 90 days, but 1 year from now if this works?
Working anywhere you want, traveling more, living life on your terms, and of course more money.
If this sounds like something you’d like to experience, then I invite you to become part of the Freelance Rise community.
I can’t wait to hear YOUR success story next.
Even though this series is over, I will continue to send you occasional emails with tips and resources to help you grow your freelance empire.
So keep a lookout for more emails from me. Thanks again for being here!
